Create an email list with MailChimp

It’s free, easy to use and keeps you connected with your customers

Everything you do with your website should be focused on improving the service you deliver to your customer. Part of that is to offer your website customers the opportunity to be kept informed through a sign up to regular updates.

Keeping your customers informed and updated with the information they WANT to receive is a very powerful way of developing the relationship and building confidence in your brand. Running a company newsletter is a great way of doing this. However, the contemplation of how to setup a good newsletter campaign and the anticipated complexity prevents many website owners from implementing these great tools.

But, you know, its not hard or scary. In fact it’s easy and fun when you have the right tools, and MailChimp is a very powerful and effective email campaign tool.

“MailChimp helps you design email newsletters, share them on social networks, integrate with services you already use, and track your results. It's like your own personal publishing platform.“ MailChimp

What can you do with MailChimp?

  1. Create several email campaigns/newsletters aimed at different types of customers
  2. Use customisable email templates for a professional look
  3. Collect visitor email addresses from any page on your website
  4. Collect email addresses based on what the customer wants to know
  5. Automatically allocate email addresses to the appropriate campaigns
  6. Customise the style of the email signup forms
  7. Allow customers to unsubscribe at any time
  8. Store up to 2,000 subscriber emails
  9. Send 12,000 emails per month
  10. Integrate with Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter

And its all absolutely FREE. You don’t even need to know any html (well, you will need to have access to your website html files, but you just copy and paste the MailChimp code straight into the html file).

So with MailChimp you don’t have to store countless email addresses on you computer or even on your website server, it’s all collected, organised, stored and distributed for you by MailChimp. all you have to do is insert the wording and images into the customisable MailChimp templates provided and away you go.

Soon I’ll post a bit of a guide on how to implement and manage a MailChimp campaign, so if you think you need a little bit of guidance, keep your eyes peeled for my next post on MailChimp.
